Dunbar's ILB was paged at 18:45 on Saturday the 20th of September by Aberdeen Coastguard when they received a phone call by a concerned member of the public. The first informant had concern's for a person walking about the rocks near the pin cushion who looked to be in danger with the rising tide. The ILB was launched and made best speed towards the area in which the casualty was spotted.
Once on scene, a crew member was transferred onto the rocks where a person matching the description was located. It turned out that the gentlemen was actually coasteering and knew the area very well and knew of the dangers around the area he was in. This was a false alarm with good intent for the crew.
