Aberdeen coastguard paged Dunbar ILB at 13:43 to reports of a person in an inflatable drifting out to sea just East of the harbour. Once the ILB was launched they quickly spotted the casualty who had safely paddled ashore. Once on scene 2 crew members went ashore to speak to the casualty were it was decided it was safer for the ILB to transfer the person back to the harbour. The remaining crew members carried the inflatable back to the station where Dunbar’s coastguard team were waiting to assist.
The ILB returned to station with the casualty and was made ready for service a short time after.
