ALB launched to tail tied fishing vessel

Dunbar lifeboat launched this morning at 09 45 when a local fishing vessel became tail tied just north of Skateraw. The fishing vessel Selina May got into difficulty when ropes fouled its propeller and wasn’t able to remove them. The skipper of the boat called a passing fishing boat if it could kindly tow him back to the harbour. Dunbar’s ALB lifeboat was paged by the request of the coxswain to assist the vessels on their tow to Dunbar. Once the lifeboat was on the scene it was understood that the skippers of both boats were happy to continue the tow and the lifeboat would stand by them until they were safely in the harbour. After both boats were safely in the harbour Dunbar lifeboat returned to Torness and was made ready for service.
