On Thursday morning the volunteer crew of Dunbars All weather lifeboat were paged by Aberdeen Coastguard after a request from North Berwick Lifeboat who had a fishing vessel in tow with a fouled propeller.
North Berwick lifeboat had been paged earlier that morning after the skipper of a local fishing boat had become tail tied just off North Berwick. The lifeboat started to tow the vessel back to Dunbar but due to the size of it they requested the assists of Dunbars ALB. Once the ALB had been launched, North Berwick had already towed the fishing vessel just off Dunbar harbour were they transferred the tow to Dunbar lifeboat.
With the help of North Berwick lifeboat, Dunbars ALB proceeded to tow the vessel into the harbour and alongside the pier to allow the skipper to asses the damage at low water.
Both boats then returned to station to be refuelled and ready for service a short time after.
