At 16:31 hours on 4th January 2014 Aberdeen Coastguard paged the crew and requested the launch of both the ILB and ALB to persons cut off by the tide at Sandy Hurst (Spikey)
The ILB attended the location where they were able to quickly locate 2 adults, 2 children and one dog who were using torches to alert the crew of their position. It was clear on arrival that they were surrounded by water so the ILB conveyed two casualties and a dog to Belhaven Bay, leaving one crew member with the two casualties at their location. The ILB thereafter made it's way back, picked up the two casualties and crew member and again conveyed them to Belhaven Bay where they were met by the Dunbar Coastguard.
The ILB thereafter made it's way back to the harbour and was refuelled and ready for service at 17:50 hours
The ALB was stood down on launching
