Dunbar lifeboat was paged at 13 16 yesterday by Aberdeen coastguard to reports of a female who had fallen on rocks on the west side of Pease bay area. Dunbar ILB & ALB were both launched. Once both boats were on scene Dunbar’s coastguard had already made contact with the casualty and requested a stretcher to be brought ashore to help move her due to a suspected broken ankle. Dunbar’s ILB transferred the stretcher from the ALB to the awaiting coastguard team ashore with 2 of its crew to assist in first aid and help carry the casualty safely down to the ILB. Once the female was safely on board the ILB it then made its way around to Pease bay Beach where Eyemouth coastguard and an awaiting ambulance crew where there to assist in carrying the female over the beach to the ambulance. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and many thanks to Dunbar & Eyemouth coastguard for their help.
