Both the All Weather Lifeboat and the Inshore Lifeboat were paged this morning at 11:24 to go to the aid of a local fishing vessel, situated just off Torness. The Selina May had lost steerage due to problems with her rudder. Arriving on scene, the ALB took the fishing vessel under tow. Due to the low tide in the harbour, the ALB and ILB stood by until there was sufficient water in the harbour for the fishing vessel. At this point, the ILB took over the tow to assist the fishing vessel back into her berth and stood by while the skipper secured the vessel, prior to both lifeboats returning to station. Both boats were refuelled and ready for service at 13:20.
